Neon Parc is thrilled to participate at the 57th edition of Art Cologne featuring Dale Frank, Diena Georgetti and Darren Sylvester. This marks the galleries’ 9th presentation at the fair since 2010.
For Art Cologne, Neon Parc demonstrates the international calibre of these artists and their relevance on the global stage, as each of these three prominent Australian artists has carved out a unique position throughout their illustrious careers.
Dale Frank’s sprawling, bombastic paintings pair resin and translucent dye poured onto mirrored Perspex, creating psychedelic galaxies filled with lavish colour and gesture. The transparent dyes seem weightless – suspended in the thick layers of resin which give the paintings immense depth and physicality, as if their movement has been caught mid-flight.
Diena Georgetti’s practice weaves together diverse source materials from her encyclopaedic knowledge of art history, design and furniture from different periods and geographies. Her paintings challenge conventional perceptions of abstraction, offering a fresh perspective that is both innovative and deeply rooted in the artistic traditions she so skilfully references.
Darren Sylvester’s large-scale photographs maintain a balance between the convincingly real and strangely artificial. The staged scenarios which he places his models within ultimately become frozen narratives, similar to a music video or advertisement campaign - both ambiguous and seductive.
