In celebration of Elizabeth Newman’s life and enduring influence, Neon Parc is honoured to present a solo presentation of her work at Melbourne Art Fair 2026.

The presentation brings together a focused selection of key historical and recent works spanning 1987–2022, including several works that have not previously been exhibited.

Together, these works trace significant trajectories within Lizzy’s sustained engagement with abstraction, language and material restraint, offering new points of entry into a practice grounded not in certainty, but in sustained curiosity.

Anchoring the presentation are three works that exemplify the breadth and clarity of her approach: an early ‘Untitled’ (1987) watercolour that quietly resists resolution; ‘Something found’ (2017), a gestural, emotive work of lightness and restraint, attentive to absence as much as presence; and ‘Untitled’ (2022), a recent work combining oil and found collage, using fragments of the natural world to suggest the paradox of art’s attempt to echo nature’s beauty — open, searching, and knowingly incomplete.
